At the parent meeting, the homeroom teacher said school would start on August 7. Somehow it is already August 12, and I’m still sitting at home writing this.
So yes, the end of summer break got pushed back. On the evening of August 6, the teacher dropped a very exciting message into the class group chat:
Basically: no school yet, wait for further notice. 233.
The more reliable rumor at the moment is that school starts on August 17, and the classes should be assigned around August 14. Update on August 21: apparently school starts tomorrow, August 22.
So what exactly did I do with this summer?
First of all, homework was never going to happen. Also, strangely enough, there wasn’t really any homework. So this is what high school summer break is like? No homework?
Technically, the teachers did say there were no strict requirements and that we should study a bit on our own. But I still spent the whole summer completely at ease and very happy.
Website stuff
The forum was rebuilt on August 8. Maybe this is also a chance for it to develop better from scratch. After the rebuild, activity really did go up quite a bit.
Part of that might be because a competing site got hit, so some people came over to hang out on mine.
Also, I have written this post three times already. The first two times, because of server issues, the data rolled back to July 31...
Programming stuff
Before summer break, I had three small projects planned: Atomic Universe, Mengshi, and E-store, an assistant store project.
In the end, taking away the beginning and the end, I basically did none of them. During the summer I only worked on Mengshi for a while, embedding the Google engine as an H5 player.
The only part I’m satisfied with is the interface. After finishing it, there were bugs everywhere. Just looking at them made me dizzy. The whole program was practically made of bugs.

I played Heroes Evolved for the entire summer and only managed to climb from Brave to Diamond.
Other things
I watched 33 episodes of Kaifeng Fu, watched one movie, and read two novels.
