16 Free Hosting Options Worth Checking Before You Say You Can’t Build a Site

A quick warning before the list

Free can easily become the most expensive option.

Paid services can disappear too.

So use all of these carefully, and keep backups of anything important.

The entries below are not ranked. Some of them used to be freely available but now have quotas, limited slots, or periods when sign-ups are closed. The links were checked, but not every service was registered and tested in depth yet. Some sites may also require a VPN or other network workaround to access.

At this point, if someone still says they can’t put up a simple site because they have no budget and no hosting space… that excuse is getting weaker.

One example: a free Hong Kong host that already shows as full:

cubichost.net/bbs/plugin.php?id=ts_hosting

16 free hosting services

1. Beget

A Russian provider.

beget.com/en/hosting/free

2. Freehostia

The storage is small, but if you are mainly publishing text, it is still enough to host quite a lot.

Freehostia’s free plan includes:

  • 5 hosted domains
  • 250MB disk space
  • 6GB monthly traffic
  • 3 email accounts
  • 1 MySQL 5 database
  • 10MB MySQL storage

It also promotes one-click installers for apps such as Joomla and WordPress.

3. Runhosting

Offers 1GB of FTP space, which is fairly generous for a free plan. The site itself seemed reasonably accessible without needing a VPN, at least when browsing the product pages.

4. Byet Host

This one may require a VPN to access the website. The free plan lists 1GB of space.

Features mentioned:

  • 1000MB disk space

6. Freewha

This service has been offering free hosting since 2005.

It advertises quite a lot for a free account:

  • instant activation
  • fast hosting on dedicated servers with SSD storage
  • responsive support
  • daily or weekly external backups
  • no ads for new sites
  • 1500MB of web space

10. AwardSpace

A free host that has existed since 2003.

It presents the free plan as suitable for small blogs, news sites, and idea launches, with an estimated traffic level of around 5,000 monthly visits.

11. XLphp

Another “professional free hosting” type of offer, with fairly large numbers listed:

  • 10GB disk space
  • 100GB bandwidth
  • hosting for 10 domains
  • 10 email accounts
  • website builder
  • Softaculous
  • easy-to-use control panel

12. miHosting

It is not very clear how long the free offer lasts. The plan looks closer to a lightweight VPS-style package.

Specs shown:

  • 3 domains
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1 CPU core
  • unlimited space
  • unlimited transfer
  • unlimited email accounts
  • antispam
  • SSL
  • unlimited databases
  • unlimited FTP
  • unlimited cron jobs
  • unlimited subdomains
  • backups included
  • NVMe SSD
  • Httpd/2
  • PHP 5.6, 7.4, 8.3

13. ALC Hosting

This one also does not make the duration of the free offer especially clear.

It looks somewhat like a VPS-style shared hosting package with 1GB of space. The service says it has been offering free hosting to small businesses since 2020.

Claims highlighted on the site include:

  • fast free hosting servers measured independently
  • zero-cost hosting with PHP, MySQL, cPanel, and no ads
  • 400+ apps installable in a few clicks

14. Miarroba

Possibly free, although the page itself does not clearly emphasize the word “free.” It may also require a VPN to access.

What it advertises:

  • up to 500MB with FTP access
  • unlimited transfer
  • PHP5
  • MySQL 5.x

15. 3V.do

A Hong Kong free host.

The space is only 100MB, but Hong Kong free hosting options are not exactly everywhere.

16. IDCEGG

Offers both Hong Kong and US free hosting, each with 1GB of PHP space, though the database allocations are small.

Hong Kong free hosting

  • permanent free use
  • no recharge required
  • PHP space: 1GB
  • MySQL: 50MB
  • 10 bound domains
  • 10GB monthly traffic
  • Linux
  • opened in one 100-day period at a time
  • panel functions include domain binding, online FTP, database management, URL redirection, pseudo-static rules, hotlink protection, one-click SSL application, one-click code install, backup/restore, and host reset
  • only legal and healthy websites allowed; abuse is prohibited

US free hosting

  • permanent free use
  • no payment required
  • PHP space: 1GB
  • MySQL: 100MB
  • 10 bound domains
  • 100GB monthly traffic
  • Linux
  • opened in one 100-day period at a time
  • same panel features as above
  • only legal and healthy websites allowed; abuse is prohibited

One more worth mentioning: XREA

A Japanese free hosting service with 10GB of space.

The plan shows:

  • 10GB storage
  • multi-domain support
  • 5GB/day transfer
  • WordPress available
  • chat support
  • no trial period
  • ads included
  • backups included

It presents itself as simple but feature-rich.

Two free forum builders

If what you want is not general web hosting but a ready-made forum or community, these may be easier:

  • LONGLUNTAN — create your own free forum
  • Yooco.org — create your own social network for free

Four free domain options to look into

A free host is only half the story. If you also want a domain without paying, these are the kinds of options people often look at:

  • EU.org — free domain registrations since 1996
  • a site that was unreachable when checked, offering a free one-year domain
  • Link registration guides for a free one-year domain
  • free .tk domain registration options

A final practical note

A free host can be enough for experiments, text-heavy personal sites, small tools, temporary pages, or learning projects. But free services can fill up, change rules, go offline, throttle performance, or vanish entirely. If the site matters, back up your files and database regularly, and do not assume “free” means stable forever.
